At its May meeting, the Central Chapter of Credit Unions held a 50/50 drawing to support Credit Unions for Kids. The total collected was $290. The person who won 50% of the collection decided to donate it back to Credit Unions for Kids.

Afena FCU: CU Walkers help Grant County Rescue Mission

Afena FCU participated in the Grant County Rescue Mission’s Walk-A-Mile for Homelessness this year.

Members Advantage CU (MACU) made a donation of $3,000 to the Michigan City Salvation Army to assist in their holiday fundraising campaign and a donation of $1,000 to the Portage Township Food Pantry.

NorthPark Community CU recently donated $600 to the Lebanon Area Boys & Girls Club.

During the months of October, November, and December 2011, members of City of Firsts Community FCU in Kokomo donated hundreds of canned/non-perishable food items to assist local food pantries.

Indiana Members CU: Bringing holiday cheer to IPS #44

Indiana Members CU (IMCU) prepared a special holiday celebration for local Indianapolis Public School (IPS) #44, Riverside Elementary, on Dec. 20.

Indiana Members CU: Fourth annual bowl-a-thon nets $20,000

Indiana Members CU hosted its fourth annual “Bowl-a-Thon” employee fundraising event to benefit the Indiana Members Foundation in mid-January. More than 400 bowlers used 80 lanes at Expo Bowl in Indianapolis. The event raised over $20,000 for the Indiana Members Foundation.

The ‘Vegas Baby, Rat Pack Style’ event was a great success and The Indiana Members Foundation was able to raise over $19,000. Because of the support we’ve received, we are well on our way to providing another 3,500 backpacks filled with school supplies to local students

Heritage FCU: Employees volunteer 2,600 hours in 2011

In 2011, Heritage FCU partnered with 170 non-profit organizations in its branch communities. In addition, the credit union donated funding and/or in-kind gifts of more than $148,000 to these organizations in order to support their various worthwhile causes in the community.
